WDCL is the sole representative of various overseas companies in the fields of Information Technology, Telecommunications, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Quality Auditor and Vendor Expeditor

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time
Function: Supply Chain Quality and Assurance
Reports to: Quality Manager / Procurement Manager
Supervises: Audit team members or inspection coordinators, as assigned

Role Purpose

  • Provide independent, risk-based quality audits and proactive vendor expediting to ensure suppliers comply with contractual quality requirements and deliver materials, equipment, and documentation in line with the project schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop audit and expediting plans based on supplier criticality, manufacturing complexity, quality risk, and required-on-site dates.
  • Issue concise visit reports, audit reports, milestone forecasts, exception lists, and expediting dashboards with evidence-based status.
  • Review purchase orders, vendor quality plans, manufacturing schedules, ITPs, suborders, document registers, and inspection assignments.
  • Conduct supplier QMS, process, product, and project-specific audits; record objective evidence and classify findings consistently.
  • Monitor engineering submissions, material procurement, subvendor progress, fabrication, testing, preservation, packing, and shipping readiness.
  • Coordinate procurement, engineering, logistics, inspection, and vendor teams so materials and final documentation arrive together and are acceptance-ready.
  • Verify that quality hold points, source inspections, FATs, NDT, certifications, and inspection releases are completed before dispatch.
  • Identify schedule and quality risks early, validate recovery plans, and escalate slippage, capacity constraints, unresolved NCRs, or document gaps.
  • Facilitate root-cause analysis and track supplier corrective actions to effective closure.

Key Performance Measures

  • Stakeholder use and acceptance of quality insights.
  • Reduction in manual reporting effort and duplicate data.
  • Source-to-dashboard reconciliation and data completeness.
  • Reports issued accurately and on schedule.
  • Actionable trends identified before major impact.

Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to audit QMS/processes and to evaluate realistic manufacturing progress beyond reported percentages.
  • Typically 7 or more years of quality auditing, supplier quality, vendor inspection, procurement quality, or expediting experience.
  • Excellent interviewing, negotiation, analytical reporting, and stakeholder-escalation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of vendor documentation, inspection release, FAT, preservation, packing, logistics, and final data-book requirements.

Preferred Certifications and Standards Knowledge:

  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is strongly preferred.
  • Professional procurement, quality, or engineering membership is desirable.
  • Relevant technical inspection certification (CSWIP, API, ASNT/ISO 9712, AMPP/NACE) is advantageous for assigned commodities.

Reporting and Interfaces

  • External interfaces: Suppliers, subvendors, third-party inspectors, freight providers, clients, certification bodies, and testing laboratories.
  • Internal interfaces: Quality, procurement, engineering, inspection, planning, logistics, construction, and document control teams.
