Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency.

PUI has been operating in Nigeria since 2016, initially establishing its presence in Borno State with a field office in Maiduguri. Over the years, PUI has expanded its humanitarian response to deep-field locations, including Monguno and Pulka, and more recently to Katsina State in Northwest Nigeria.

Job Title: Deputy Partnership Manager

General Objective / Summary

• The Deputy Partnership Manager will ensure synergy among all partners and PUI. S/he will also be responsible for implementing and contributing to PUI partnership and localization strategy in the country.
• The Deputy Partnership Manager will aim to maximize the sectoral and geographical scope of the integrated approach that partners implement separately, as well as to enhance the quality and impact of their humanitarian action by combining resources, complementary expertise and access.
• Under the direct management of the Grants and Partnership Manager, the Deputy Partnership Manager key objective is to map new and existing partners (National and International NGOs), [PC1] [PG2] assessing partner’s operational and programmatic capacity, supporting and documenting the implementation of partner capacity building plans, supporting the monitoring of partners’ project implementation, and ensure timely submission and revision of partner reports.

Responsibilities and Tasks
Partnership:

• Assist in organizing Partnership Committee meetings with senior management, recording sessions, and documenting action points and lessons learned.
• Facilitate monitoring visits to partners’ field offices or operational areas to ensure proper implementation, identify challenges, and develop solutions.
• Support the top management in mapping organizations and potential partners inside and outside PUI’s operational areas.
• Maintain positive and mutually respectful relationships between PUI and partners, addressing any issues promptly as they arise.
• Support the definition and lead the implementation of the project communication plan in collaboration with partners (e.g., specific logos, events, digital platforms).
• Regularly update the stakeholder and NNGO mapping tool and conduct regular stakeholder analysis to identify strategic local actors and inform partnership and localization strategy
• Facilitate the due diligence process for potential partners.
• Ensure the proper archiving and management of all partnership-related documentation.
• Oversee the execution of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for partner selection and provides feedback for improvements or revisions.
• Train PUI staff on partnership and localization principles, good practices, processes with guidance from its supervisor.

Localization amd Capacity Developement:

• Collect needs for mentorship and/or coaching activities at the partner organizational and individual levels.
• Attend the localization technical working group meeting and report back to inform the localization strategy
• Support and monitor the effective implementation of partners’ capacity-building plans.
• Support key partnership tools timely revision (CAT, CBP...)
• Maintain and update the Capacity Building Plan to reflect current progress and needs.
• Ensure the systematic archiving of Means of Verification (MoV) for capacity-building sessions.
• Capture lessons learned and best practices from partnerships and capacity strengthening efforts.
• Document all capacity-building sessions comprehensively.
• Kick-start capacity assessment with new partner contracting with PUI
• Collaborate with all relevant departments to develop internal PUI capacity-building modules.
• Support in organising periodic partnership [PC1] [PG2]review meetings with partners.
• Supporting development of the partnership strategy, and implementation of the localization roadmap.
• Collaborate with project lead and technical coordinators to ensure a culture of mutual capacity sharing approaches and learning, so that PUI can learn from unique partners practices and innovations

Grants Management:

• Support the preparation of documentation for any project modifications, including budget revisions, amendments or extensions.
• During proposal development, liaise with partners to ensure a participatory approach. (Tasks and responsibilities defined in this job description are non-exhaustive and can evolve depending on the project’s needs.)
• Ensure that donor rules and procedures are understood and respected by all parties, sharing information and conducting training if required on proposed systems and processes for partnership management.
• Assist in drafting partnership agreements, teaming agreements, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), reporting templates, and annexes.
• Supervise the collection and consolidation of narrative, financial, logistic, technical, etc. reports from PUI partners for donor reporting.
• Make sure that an internal and external reporting schedule is designed and that it is agreed and respected by all partners.

Priorities of the Department:

• Explore partnership and localization entity being part of the humanitarian coordination and reinforce PUI presence there.
• Foster partners' increased involvement in the contractual reporting as well as the proposal development process.
• Support the expansion of the partner pool.
• Support the development and implementation of the Capacity Building Plan with partners.
• Ensure effective management and coordination with active partners of the Nigeria mission.

Requirements
Education Degree:

• Degree in project management, political sciences, international development, public administration, business, social science or other relevant areas; or equivalent professional experience.

Work experience:

• At least two years of experience in a similar role and/or areas of program development, project management, donor reporting and grant compliance for an international NGO.
• Experience in creating communication products (i.e. articles, success stories, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience in supporting/documenting capacity building plan.
• Experience in liaising with local partner.

Computer skills:

• Excellent computer skills, including ability to operate Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and database management software.

Language skills:

• Excellent interpersonal communications skills in English.
• Excellent interpersonal communications skills in Nigerian local (Hausa, Kanuri, Fulani etc.,) languages is a plus.
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English.

Other skills:

• Ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively as part of a diverse team and manage a varied workload.
• Excellent command in writing and editing documents under deadline pressure
