Job Title: Audit Associate

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time - Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Job Summary

  • They are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Audit Associate to join its team.
  • The Audit Associate will support the planning and execution of audit engagements by reviewing financial records, evaluating internal controls, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, auditing standards, and accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with departments and clients to obtain required information during audit engagements.
  • Perform substantive testing and analytical review of financial information.
  • Assist in planning and executing internal and external audit engagements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify control weaknesses or process gaps.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare audit findings and recommendations.
  • Review financial records, supporting documents, and operational procedures for accuracy and compliance.
  • Follow up on previous audit recommendations to ensure implementation.
  • Assist in preparing audit reports for management review.
  • Support inventory counts, cash audits, and operational reviews where necessary.
  • Prepare audit working papers and maintain accurate audit documentation using Caseware where applicable.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of audit processes and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive financial information.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of IFRS, ISA, and regulatory compliance.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Applicant must possess a relevant professional certification such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to qualify for this role.
  • Proficiency in or working knowledge of Caseware audit software is required.
  • Knowledge of auditing principles, financial reporting, internal controls, and risk assessment.
  • Good communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in audit, accounting, compliance, or finance-related roles, preferably within an accounting or professional services firm.

Salary
N250,000.00 monthly.
