We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Security Guard

Location: Ajah, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary

  • The role is responsible for preventing and responding to security incidents, enforcing security policies and procedures, monitoring access to School premises, and supporting emergency preparedness to ensure the uninterrupted achievement of the School’s strategic and operational objectives.
  • To protect the lives, property, and assets of the School by maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, students, visitors, and other stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control and accident investigations
  • Maintain access control at the school gate and relevant areas.
  • Adhere to all company service and operating standards
  • Other related security and safety matters to be assigned by line manager
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulations
  • Protect the company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues
  • Monitor CCTV in line with regulations.
  • Conduct security patrols and guarding of the school premises
  • Investigate vandalism, monitor and question suspects within the premises and report accordingly.
  • Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
  • Facilitate fire evacuation and emergency services.
  • Maintain orderliness, traffic control and safety in Car Park areas.
  • Assist visitors requiring direction or general enquiries by directing them to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintain incident report register.
  • Ensure proactive fire incident prevention especially during close of work.
  • Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers

Qualification and Experience

  • Candidates should possess a minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent. A National Diploma (ND) in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Candidates should also have at least three (3) years’ relevant experience in a corporate, educational, or security services environment.
  • The role requires good communication and interpersonal skills, integrity, physical fitness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • The Security Officer should possess strong observation, vigilance, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to security incidents and emergencies.

The candidate should also possess the following competencies:

  • Teamwork and collaboration.
  • Punctuality and loyalty.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations on use of CCTV and communication gadgets
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and fire evacuation procedure
  • Working knowledge of MS office
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Customer Service and protocols
  • Knowledge of Health and safety regulations
  • knowledge of surveillance and intelligence operations
  • Sound oral and written communication skills
