We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Dive Inspection Manager

Location: Nigeria

Job Summary

  • The role provides technical leadership and operational oversight to ensure that all dive inspection activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory obligations while maintaining the integrity and reliability of offshore assets.
  • The Dive Inspection Manager is responsible for the planning, management, coordination, and execution of offshore diving and subsea inspection activities associated with offshore structures, subsea pipelines, risers, flowlines, mooring systems, and subsea facilities.

Key Responsibilities
Dive Inspection Management:

  • Coordinate offshore diving campaigns involving structural inspections, pipeline inspections, cathodic protection surveys, marine growth assessments, and subsea integrity evaluations.
  • Develop and implement dive inspection strategies, execution plans, inspection programs, and asset integrity initiatives.
  • Lead and manage all diving and subsea inspection activities throughout project planning, execution, and close-out phases.
  • Monitor operational performance, resource utilization, and project delivery objectives.
  • Ensure inspection activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures, client specifications, and applicable industry standards.

Technical and Asset Integrity Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate inspection findings, survey data, video recordings, photographs, and engineering assessments.
  • Ensure effective management of inspection records, integrity databases, and asset performance information.
  • Provide technical leadership for underwater inspection and integrity management programs.
  • Review and approve inspection procedures, work packs, risk assessments, method statements, and technical reports.
  • Coordinate Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance (IRM) campaigns and subsea intervention activities.
  • Support anomaly assessment, fitness-for-service evaluations, repair recommendations, and life-extension programs.

Offshore Operations and Project Execution:

  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation activities.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of inspection deliverables.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, classification societies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate diving support vessels, offshore construction vessels, ROV teams, survey personnel, and inspection contractors.
  • Support offshore installation, maintenance, repair, and construction activities requiring diving intervention.

Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Responsibilities:

  • Ensure environmental compliance during offshore operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, IMCA guidelines, and applicable offshore regulations.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Lead HAZID, JSA, SIMOPS, and operational risk assessment activities.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout diving and inspection operations.
  • Verify compliance with permit-to-work systems and diving safety requirements.

Leadership and Personnel Development:

  • Promote continuous improvement, technical excellence, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop local personnel through structured knowledge transfer programs.
  • Lead and supervise dive inspection personnel, diving supervisors, inspectors, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Support succession planning and local content objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and competency assessments.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Provide recommendations for operational improvements and asset integrity enhancement.
  • Maintain records relating to inspection activities, certifications, and compliance requirements.
  • Review and approve final inspection reports and project close-out documentation.
  • Prepare management reports, project updates, inspection summaries, and performance reviews.

Requirements
Qualifications:

  • Professional certification in diving, underwater inspection, or asset integrity management is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, Inspection Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Membership of a recognized engineering or inspection professional body is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in underwater inspection, offshore structural integrity assessment, pipeline inspection, and asset integrity management.
  • International offshore project experience is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in diving supervision, dive inspection management, offshore construction management, or subsea inspection leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary offshore teams and major inspection programs.
  • Minimum of 15 years' offshore construction barge and diving vessel experience related to structural, subsea, and pipeline inspection projects.
  • Proven experience managing offshore diving campaigns, IRM projects, and subsea intervention operations.

Required Certifications:

  • BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS.
  • First Aid and HSE Training Certifications.
  • Any client-specific or project-required certifications.
  • CSWIP 3.4U Underwater Inspection Certification (or equivalent).
  • HUET Certification.
  • Offshore Medical Certificate.
  • IMCA-Recognized Diving Supervisor Certification.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of offshore construction, IRM operations, and subsea intervention activities.
  • Expert knowledge of offshore diving operations and underwater inspection methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, inspection reports, integrity assessments, and technical documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and technical reporting applications.
  • Familiarity with IMCA, DNV, API, ISO, and offshore industry standards.
  • Experience with inspection reporting systems, integrity databases, and asset management software.
  • Extensive experience in structural inspection, pipeline inspection, cathodic protection surveys, and subsea integrity management.

  • Strong understanding of international offshore regulatory and asset integrity requirements.
  • Proven capability in mentoring and developing local engineering and inspection personnel.
  • Experience on major offshore structural integrity, subsea inspection, pipeline integrity, and deepwater development projects.
