Job Title: IT Manager (Hardware & Infrastructure)

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

  • The successful candidate will ensure maximum system availability, oversee enterprise hardware assets, manage technical support operations, and drive continuous improvements in IT service delivery across multiple business locations.
  • The IT Manager (Hardware & Infrastructure) will be responsible for the planning, implementation, maintenance, and security of the organization's IT hardware and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all IT hardware complies with corporate security policies and industry best practices.
  • Manage the procurement, deployment, configuration, and lifecycle of desktops, laptops, servers, storage systems, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Ensure high availability of IT systems through proactive monitoring, preventive maintenance, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Establish and maintain hardware standards, asset management processes, and inventory controls.
  • Support business continuity initiatives by ensuring infrastructure resilience and backup systems.
  • Prepare and manage IT infrastructure budgets and recommend cost-effective technology investments.
  • Lead the IT support team in resolving hardware-related incidents and service requests within agreed service levels.
  • Develop and implement the organization's IT hardware and infrastructure strategy.
  • Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and OEMs for warranty management, maintenance contracts, and technical support.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and optimization of data centre equipment and supporting infrastructure.
  • Manage LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and related network hardware in collaboration with network administrators.
  • Produce periodic reports on infrastructure performance, hardware utilization, risks, and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, ITIL, VMware, Dell EMC, HP Enterprise, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure within the oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, or other large corporate environments is highly desirable.
  • Must have 7–10 years' relevant IT experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of endpoint management, hardware asset management, and IT service management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise servers, storage, backup solutions, and virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles relating to IT infrastructure and endpoint protection.
  • Experience with cloud-integrated infrastructure and hybrid environments is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise networking hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
