Our team of experienced engineers and technicians are actively working at the various oil and gas fields across the Niger Delta region of Nigeria in both land & swap locations as well as in shallow and deep-water offshore locations belonging to various clients.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Cost Controller

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Position Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Track project variations, change orders, and their financial impact.
  • Oversee procurement and construction costs, including vendor, subcontractor, labour, and equipment expenditures. Review payment applications and validate project progress against costs. Support project financial management, including profitability, revenue recognition, audits, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with project, commercial, procurement, and finance teams to ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and mitigate cost risks while maintaining contingency and risk registers.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cost breakdown structures.
  • Prepare cost reports, financial forecasts (EAC/ETC), and performance dashboards for management.
  • Monitor project costs, commitments, forecasts, and cash flow to ensure budget compliance.
  • Support earned value analysis and other project cost performance metrics. Prepare project close-out cost reports, budget reconciliations, and final account documentation.

Requirements

  • Professional certifications such as CCP, PMP, AACE, PRINCE2, or COREN will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in Project Cost Control, with at least 5 years in the Oil & Gas, EPC, Construction, Energy, or Industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, contract administration, change management, and cost engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Advanced), Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, SAP, Oracle, and Power BI.
  • Experience supporting projects ranging from USD 1 million to USD 100 million.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, cost control, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), cash flow management, and project financial reporting.
  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or a related discipline.
