Job Title: Head, Accounts & Finance

Location: Lagos

Role Summary

  • The role drives financial planning, cost optimization, compliance, and performance analytics to support business growth, expansion, and operational excellence.
  • The Head, Accounts & Finance is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and sustainable profitability across Bukka Hut’s multi-outlet operations.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team on financial planning, investments, and risk management.
  • Lead long-term financial forecasting, scenario planning, and capital allocation decisions.
  • Drive financial sustainability and profitability across all business units.

Financial Planning, Budgeting & Control:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Track and report key financial KPIs (e.g., cost ratios, revenue growth, profitability).
  • Monitor budgetary compliance across all departments and outlets.
  • Implement cost-control measures to optimize operational efficiency and improve margins.

Financial Reporting & Performance Management:

  • Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Drive data-driven decision-making through financial analytics.
  • Establish financial dashboards to track outlet-level and corporate performance.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports with actionable insights.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management:

  • Oversee banking relationships, financing arrangements, and investment activities.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure business continuity.
  • Optimize cash utilization across outlets and central operations.

Cost Management & Operational Efficiency:

  • Drive cost optimization initiatives across procurement, logistics, and operations.
  • Ensure inventory controls and minimize wastage, shrinkage, and variances.
  • Monitor food cost, labour cost, and overhead expenses against benchmarks.
  • Partner with Operations to improve unit economics and outlet profitability.

Compliance, Audit & Risk Management:

  • Lead internal and external audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Establish robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage financial risks, fraud prevention, and governance frameworks.

Payroll & Financial Operations Oversight:

  • Drive automation and process improvements in financial systems.
  • Ensure seamless financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee payroll accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting:

  • Present financial reports and insights to the Board and Executive Management.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders (auditors, tax authorities, banks).
  • Provide financial guidance to department heads and business unit leaders.

Team Leadership & Capability Development:

  • Build a high-performance finance function with strong accountability and controls.
  • Drive continuous learning, process discipline, and operational excellence within the team.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team.

  • Audit Compliance Score (Internal & External)
  • Payroll Accuracy (>99.5%)
  • Budgetary Compliance (Actual vs Budget)
  • EBITDA Margin / Profitability Growth
  • Cost Savings Realized
  • Financial Process Compliance Rate (>95%)
  • Financial Reporting Accuracy & Timeliness
  • Cash Flow Efficiency & Liquidity Ratios
  • Inventory Variance Reduction

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA is an advantage).
  • Minimum of 10–12 years’ experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Professional certification required (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in QSR, FMCG, Retail, or multi-unit operations is highly preferred.

Salary
N10,000,000 - N15,000,000 Monthly.
