Talent City - Our client is an agro-processing company focused on the cassava / garri value chain in Southwest Nigeria.

They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Buyer Development / Market Intelligence Officer

Job Location: Oyo

Role Summary

• We are seeking a field-driven and commercially aware Buyer Development / Market Intelligence Officer to identify, verify, and engage serious buyers across Oyo State and the wider Southwest region.
• This role involves sourcing and qualifying buyers such as wholesalers, distributors, aggregators, food commodity traders, and institutional buyers, while gathering key market intelligence to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and verify credible buyers across Oyo and Southwest Nigeria
• Conduct field visits to markets, wholesalers, distributors, and institutional buyers
• Gather and analyze buyer data including pricing, volume, preferences, and location
• Engage buyers through calls and in-person interactions
• Validate demand, pricing trends, and buyer credibility
• Prepare weekly reports using Excel or Google Sheets
• Recommend high-potential buyer opportunities for follow-up

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to operate within Oyo/Ibadan/Southwest Nigeria
• Candidate must have experience in FMCG field sales or route-to-market sales
• Comfortable with extensive fieldwork and market visits
• Strong communication skills to engage buyers and traders directly
• High level of integrity, organization, and commercial awareness
• Ability to submit clear and structured reports
• Basic proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
