Job Summary

• We are seeking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain and optimise the organisation's database environments.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for database availability, performance, security, backup and recovery, capacity management and technical support across the company's technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise database environments.
• Monitor database performance, availability and capacity.
• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades and patching.
• Manage database backup, recovery and restoration processes.
• Monitor database health and resolve performance issues.
• Implement database security, access controls and user permissions.
• Perform database tuning and optimisation.
• Support application teams with database-related technical issues.
• Develop and maintain database monitoring and maintenance procedures.
• Support high-availability and disaster recovery requirements.
• Perform database migrations and upgrades where required.
• Maintain database documentation and technical standards.
• Investigate and resolve database incidents.
• Support data integrity, availability and security requirements.
• Work with infrastructure, development, security and application support teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree/HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Strong experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server or other enterprise databases.
• Good knowledge of database performance tuning and optimisation.
• Strong understanding of backup and recovery.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of database security and access management.
• Experience working in enterprise technology environments.
• Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Relevant database certification will be an advantage.
