Dragnet Solutions Limited - Our client, Lafarge Africa Plc, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Lubrication Engineer

Location: Ashaka, Gombe
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • Organise and follow up proper established lubrication programme of all plant equipments.
  • Keeping of record of the lubrication consumption of the equipment. Liasing with stores department to monitor lubricant inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with EMS Methods Instrumentation activities.
  • Monitoring of the consumption of oil and grease for each equipment.
  • Ensure full awareness of running conveyor nip points and other equipment.
  • Report any guard missing in moving machine parts like couplings and shafts.
  • Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the plant.
  • Ensure full adherence to Mandatory Safety Release (MSR) while conducting inspection at preheater cyclones.
  • Conduct risk assessment and document accordingly.
  • Ensure usage of mandatory and specific PPEs while conducting inspection and lubrication activities.
  • House keeping of lubricant storage and spillages.
  • Inventory control and safe storage of lubricant.
  • Lubrication of all plant equipments in line with schedule.
  • Take lubricant samples for analysis.
  • Health and Safety of the lubrication craftmen.
  • Ensure you carry out LOTOTO whenever you want to carry out inspection and lubrication.
  • The lubricator must be aware of moving parts and sources of heat.
  • At the time of opening inspection doors, be careful as objects could fall inside accidentally.
  • Produce and Circulate Monthly Lubrication Report.
  • Do not introduce objects or parts of the body into the zone of contact pinion / girth gear.
  • Report all Lubrication Activities to Inspection Engineer & Lubrication Coordinator.

Requirements
Education:

  • At least an HND qualification in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant fieldwork experience in Cement industry.

Required Skills:

  • Understands the specification of lubricants.
  • For good job performance, good communication skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, resistance to stress and ability to lead employees is required.
  • Conversant with the health and safety hazards associated with lubricants.
  • Some knowledge of hydraulics.
  • Good knowledge of central lubrication system and maintenance.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
