Job Title: Mobile Equipment Planner

Location: Ashaka, Gombe
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • This role involves effective maintenance planning, scheduling & inventory control as well as preparing master schedule and workload balance to ensure that manpower is effectively utilized, plan each significant job and determine safety requirements, job steps (execution job plan), blueprints, materials, special equipment needs, and manpower required to perform necessary work.
  • The Mobile Equipment Planner is responsible to prepare all planned maintenance that have to be carried out by the execution team, service companies or contractors.
  • In that role, the Mobile Equipment Planner will work closely with the Mobile Equipment Inspector and the execution team on the following tasks and responsibilities in order to reinforce the day-to-day job preparation & planning.

Responsibilities

  • Establish preparatory work prior to scheduled equipment downtime
  • Understand and comply with HSE policies
  • Add relevant information to work orders for execution team comprehension
  • Supervise jobs and contractors during annual plant operation
  • Provide a parts list with reference numbers and ensure all are in stock before scheduling
  • Operate tools and equipment safely
  • Perform other assigned tasks
  • Gather information needed to plan work orders in SAP Work Order System
  • Develop detailed job plans with sequences, equipment downtime and man-hours required
  • Ensure technical specifications and special instructions provided on paper to supervisor and craftsmen
  • Ensure timely delivery of spare parts by working with purchasing officers
  • Inform supervisor/engineer when a job is ready for scheduling
  • Work with storeroom supervisor to update min-max levels and develop parts catalogues
  • Utilize CMMS, work order tracking system, and inventory systems as well as modern software packages
  • Create tool list specific to the job
  • Define scope of work to be performed
  • Attend manufacturer-sponsored product training if requested
  • Establish and maintain systems for equipment parts catalogue
  • Actively support key safety initiatives at the plant
  • Ensure safe working conditions and good safe practices are applied
  • Determine cost involved for parts and supplies for each work order

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree / HND in Mechanical engineering or any related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience

Required skills:

  • Computer literacy is essential
  • Ability to carry out/repair electrical wiring in a range of vehicles
  • Machine main system knowledge
  • Auto electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • Good knowledge of RCA methodology and facilitating skills.
  • Ability to read electrical and electronic schematics and circuit diagrams
  • Knowledge of diagnostics tools for vehicle electrical and electronics
  • Strong manual skills and precision when carrying out repair and testing
  • Technical / Functional Skills: Knowledge of SAP, CMMS
  • Strong spoken & written communication skill
