Dragnet Solutions Limited - Our client, Lafarge Africa Plc, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Process Technician

Location: Ashaka, Gombe
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • The job objective of the Process Technician is to carry out activities to optimize the production processes and assist the Process Engineer In championing the continuous performance optimization of different production shop with the aim of lowering energy consumption and other technical KPls that drives variable cost of production.

Responsibilities

  • Validate end control correctness of sensors
  • Monitor the parameters relating to plant operations and develop methods for better output from or greater stability of the production process
  • Maintain Cleanliness of Process Equipment Area
  • Comply with EMS Process Instrumentation activities
  • Assist in conducting a production process studies and audits which deems necessity or which are requested by line management, with the possible assistance of expert from technical center or plant process manager
  • Check for safety and cleanness in the workplace
  • Liaise with operational staff, CROs, patrollers etc. on operational issues that affect plant performance
  • Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Validate the quality of process data reported
  • Ensure compliance to all safety rules and standards at all times in processes
  • Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the plant
  • Analyze all processes, identify all fundamental issues and assist in appropriate resolution
  • Define missions and objectives for the workforce and can out their performance reviews, promote quality of the work and motivate personnel, develop skills to keep abreast with new management methods and tools

Requirements
Education:

  • Other Degree or equivalent in any engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering)

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 Years' experience in any cement plant

Required skills:

  • Good knowledge of safety and environmental laws and regulations
  • Working knowledge of cement manufacturing processes: raw meal preparation, buring, combustion, grinding and packing operation
  • Commitment to the highest standards of safe work habits
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound analytical skills
