Role Overview
- We are seeking a Legal Associateto join our General Legal Services Unit. The successful candidate will support senior lawyers, provide comprehensive legal advice to clients, conduct research, draft legal documents, and contribute to strategic oversight across business functions.
- This role offers exposure to diverse legal matters, the opportunity to work with high-profile clients, and active involvement in the growth and success of our firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed legal research and provide actionable advice to clients and senior lawyers.
- Draft, review, and refine contracts, agreements, corporate documents, and court pleadings.
- Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation processes.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and external counsel to advance legal and business objectives.
- Support business development activities and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership initiatives.
- Manage legal documentation, case filing, and ensure efficient administrative processes.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
- Lead or participate in contract negotiations, mitigating risks and safeguarding client interests.
- Mentor junior associates and support capacity-building initiatives within the team.
Qualifications & Experience
- LLB, BL, and preferably an LLM.
- Minimum of 4years of relevant post-call experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and handle confidential information.
- Experience with handling litigation.
- Strong organizational, research, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant legal/administrative tools.
