Green Habitat Initiative (GHI) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and improved livelihoods across Nigeria. GHI designs and implements community-based initiatives that address climate change, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and green innovation.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Junior Finance Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily accounting and financial transactions.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and basic account reconciliations.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and documentation.
  • Ensure proper filing of financial records and compliance documents.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and responding to basic audit queries.
  • Support budget tracking and routine expense monitoring.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks is an added advantage.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Completion of NYSC is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting (including internships, NYSC, or entry-level roles).
