We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership:


  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making
  • Lead long-term financial planning and sustainability initiatives
  • Advise the MD/CEO on investment opportunities and expansion plans.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts for both business units
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and KPIs
  • Conduct cost analysis for logistics operations (fleet, fuel, maintenance) and training programs
  • Drive profitability and cost optimization initiatives.

Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS)
  • Present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to management
  • Manage audits and liaise with external auditors.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management:

  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital
  • Optimize banking relationships and funding strategies
  • Oversee receivables and payables management
  • Ensure adequate controls over financial transactions.

Risk Management & Internal Controls:

  • Develop and maintain internal control systems
  • Identify financial and operational risks across logistics and ICT training operations
  • Ensure fraud prevention and mitigation measures are in place
  • Oversee insurance and asset protection strategies.

Regulatory Compliance & Taxation:

  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian financial regulations and tax laws
  • Oversee tax planning, filings, and statutory remittances (VAT, PAYE, CIT, etc.)
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as:
  • Federal Inland Revenue Service
  • Lagos State Internal Revenue Service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields
  • MBA or Master’s in Finance is an advantage
  • Professional Certifications - ICAN / ACCA (mandatory)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience
  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, or training/education sector is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations and tax systems.
