We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Information Technology Operations Manager

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

About the Role

  • This is a highly hands-on role responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations, infrastructure reliability, system uptime, technical support delivery, and enterprise-wide technology coordination.
  • The ideal candidate must have practical experience managing IT operations in a multi-company or large operational environment with significant staff, devices, networks, systems, and digital infrastructure.
  • The role requires someone who can troubleshoot problems quickly, support users efficiently, implement reliable systems, anticipate operational risks, and drive continuous improvement across the organization’s technology ecosystem.
  • The IT Operations Manager will oversee the daily functioning, stability, performance, and security of the Group’s entire IT infrastructure and operational technology systems.

Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & Systems Management:

  • Ensure maximum uptime, stability, performance, and reliability of all systems and services
  • Oversee and maintain the Group’s IT infrastructure across all subsidiaries and operational units
  • Manage servers, hosting environments, cloud services, networking systems, internet infrastructure, and enterprise applications
  • Monitor infrastructure health and proactively identify operational risks or system failures

End-User & Technical Support:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily IT support operations for staff across multiple departments and subsidiaries
  • Resolve hardware, software, networking, email, and systems-related issues efficiently
  • Provide escalation support for critical technical incidents
  • Ensure effective onboarding and technical setup for new staff and departments

Networking & Connectivity:

  • Troubleshoot network outages, bandwidth issues, and connectivity challenges
  • Ensure stable connectivity across all operational locations
  • Manage LAN/WAN infrastructure, office networking, routers, switches, Wi-Fi systems, VPNs, and internet connectivity

Email & Communication Systems:

  • Resolve email delivery and configuration issues across the Group
  • Manage company email infrastructure and enterprise communication systems
  • Oversee email hosting, DNS records, domain configurations, spam protection, and security policies

Systems Administration & Security:

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and security policies
  • Ensure proper backup systems, disaster recovery procedures, and business continuity planning
  • Monitor system vulnerabilities and implement security best practices
  • Handle software updates, patches, antivirus systems, and infrastructure maintenance

Hardware & Software Deployment:

  • Coordinate procurement, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware and software
  • Maintain inventory of company systems, devices, licenses, and IT assets
  • Standardize technology deployment processes across subsidiaries

Operational Improvement & Planning:

  • Anticipate future infrastructure needs and support organizational growth plans
  • Collaborate with management to align IT operations with business goals
  • Assess current systems and recommend improvements for scalability, efficiency, and security
  • Develop IT operational procedures, documentation, and best practices

Vendor & Service Management:

  • Monitor third-party services and ensure service reliability
  • Coordinate with internet providers, hosting providers, software vendors, and external IT partners
  • Manage renewals, subscriptions, hosting accounts, and infrastructure-related services

Requirements
Qualifications:

  • Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of business continuity, system reliability, and operational efficiency
  • Proven experience supporting a medium-to-large organization or multi-subsidiary business environment
  • Minimum of 5+ years practical experience in IT Operations, Systems Administration, or Infrastructure Management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong organizational and operational management skills
  • Strong hands-on experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure and operational systems

Technical Requirements:
Infrastructure & Systems:

  • Shared hosting, cPanel, Plesk, DNS management
  • Windows Server & Linux Server administration
  • Cloud hosting environments and VPS management
  • Backup systems and disaster recovery
  • Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace administration

Networking:

  • Network troubleshooting and optimization
  • LAN/WAN configuration
  • Internet and Wi-Fi infrastructure management
  • Routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs

Security & Monitoring:

  • Antivirus and firewall management
  • System monitoring and logging tools
  • Endpoint security systems
  • Access control systems

Hardware & Deployment:

  • Computer setup and maintenance
  • Software deployment and updates
  • Asset management
  • Printers, scanners, and office hardware support

Additional Skills:

  • Handled complex technical troubleshooting independently
  • Managed enterprise IT operations across multiple departments or companies
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies is an advantage
  • Maintained stable and secure infrastructure with minimal downtime
  • Supported hundreds of users in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Implemented system upgrades, backups, and operational improvements
  • Experience supporting media, production, publishing, or e-commerce operations is an added advantage
  • Experience managing hosting and web infrastructure is highly beneficial
  • Coordinated IT support operations across different business units
  • Planned and scaled IT infrastructure for growing organizations
