Job Title: Head of Brands and Marketing

Location: Gbagada, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Brand Management

  • Establishes and maintain a positive, consistent brand focus and image for the organization.
  • Oversees the company’s annual brands and communications budget and ensuring its use is fully maximized
  • Provides strategic input and direction for the company’s brand, developing style guides, templates, and other materials
  • Explores various channels to communicate and showcase the the various product brands.
  • Regularly analyses and examine the brand and product strategy and highlighting areas of weaknesses, shortcomings or conflicting messages.
  • Leads the brand communications team in continually enhancing the company's brand image
  • Continuously creates an enduring brand message that results in increased sales, brand loyalty and improving market share.
  • Develops marketing research report that identifies pain points, solutions, competitors, supply/demand, trends, budgets, brand message and media advertising, financial return and ROI marketing.
  • Assists in the development, periodic review and update of supporting risk and business control policies, procedures and practices
  • Works closely with all parts of the company to ensure commercial goals of the brand are met.
  • Assures brand consistency by planning and managing the design, content, and production of all marketing materials. Increasing brand awareness, and providing after-sales support through advertisements, media, point-of sale, partnerships, and relationship marketing.

Digital Reach and Engagement:

  • Increases social media following and engagement
  • Monitors press stories relating to the company and its brand
  • Plans and manages the content creation and publishing process
  • Responsible for creating and implementing a long-term communication strategy, and producing a yearly commercial calendar/plan
  • Acts as the brand’s spokesperson with media relations
  • Establishes and optimizes company’s digital assets such as social media, websites, email marketing, etc.
  • Organizes events such as product launches, exhibitions and photo shoots as part of organization or product brand management programs
  • Formulates and implements public relations strategies, selects and manages communications with external agencies, as well as develops media marketing strategies and other non-campaign activities
  • Improves quality of social media content to create the right brand perception and engagement
  • Develops and executes digital marketing engagement programs Public Relations and Communications

Lead Generation:

  • Devises, implements and measures marketing strategies for growing customer base
  • Responsible for team management and performance. Partially responsible for team member's performance. Ensures adherence of team to operational deliverables such as reports. Organizes team members’ goals, resources, work etc.
  • Role models professional values and etiquette and teaches the team to do the same. Invests in growing self and team. Supports and encourages learning; pursues innovation and new idea generation.
  • Executes communication campaigns to attract new customers Leadership and People Management
  • Motivates team members to achieve set goals and exceed set targets
  • Overseas compliance with health and safety measures
  • Coaches, mentors, and trains all team members periodically on best practices, regulation and new trends.

Job Requirements

  • Higher National Diploma, HND / Bachelor's Degree, B.Sc. in any relevant discipline is required with 5 – 7 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Relevant professional qualifications (Professional Certification in Marketing or communications) is an added advantage
