Job Title: Executive Assistant to CEO / Legal Officer

Location: Gbagada, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Work: Work directly with a serial entrepreneur building companies, industries, and institutions.

  • You will work directly with the Group Chairman & CEO of one of Nigeria's leading integrated facilities management groups—a serial entrepreneur with interests spanning facilities management, healthcare, environmental sustainability, technology, manufacturing, financial services, and social impact.

  • This is not a conventional Executive Assistant role.
  • We seek a young lawyer ( minimum 3–5 years post-call experience) who wants a front-row seat to entrepreneurship, corporate leadership, strategy, negotiation, governance, and business growth.
  • Every day will be different. One morning you could be reviewing a commercial contract worth hundreds of millions of naira; by afternoon you may be coordinating board meetings, negotiating with multinational clients, preparing presentations for investors, supporting acquisitions, or helping execute strategic initiatives across multiple businesses.
  • If you are looking for a predictable 9-to-5 legal role, this is probably not for you.

The Role

  • Your success will not be measured by how well you manage a calendar, organise an extremly disorganised boss and you will be measured by how much more effective the CEO becomes because you are part of the team.
  • As Executive Assistant to the CEO / Legal Officer, you will serve as the CEO's trusted office coordinator, legal adviser, project manager, and execution partner.
  • You will help transform ideas into execution, ensure decisions are implemented, remove bottlenecks, coordinate people, manage priorities, anticipate problems before they arise, and provide legal guidance across the Group.

Key Responsibilities
Executive Office Management:

  • Draft executive correspondence and presentations
  • Act as the CEO's gatekeeper while maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships
  • Prepare briefing notes before meetings
  • Coordinate meetings, travel, speaking engagements and executive priorities
  • Manage an extremely dynamic executive calendar
  • Track key action items until completion
  • Ensure deadlines across multiple companies are achieved

Legal & Commercial Support:

  • Conduct legal research for strategic decisions
  • Coordinate external solicitors where required
  • Ensure legal compliance across the Group
  • Advise management on legal and regulatory issues
  • Support dispute resolution and contract administration
  • Review client contracts and service agreements
  • Maintain statutory and corporate governance records
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements

Strategic Execution:
Work directly with the CEO on:

  • Market research
  • Mergers and acquisitions support
  • New business opportunities
  • Business expansion projects
  • Investment opportunities
  • Competitor intelligence
  • Strategic partnerships
  • Special executive assignments
  • Executive reports and board papers

Project Coordination:
Coordinate high-impact strategic initiatives by:

  • Monitoring deliverables
  • Preparing progress dashboards
  • Tracking milestones
  • Escalating bottlenecks
  • Driving accountability across departments
  • Following up with executives

Business Development Support:

  • Participate in proposal development
  • Conduct due diligence on prospective opportunities
  • Prepare executive briefing documents
  • Support strategic presentations
  • Coordinate client meetings
  • Assist with contract negotiations

Governance & Board Support:

  • Prepare board papers
  • Record resolutions
  • Coordinate board meetings
  • Maintain governance documentation
  • Track implementation of board decisions

Executive Communications:

  • Prepare briefing notes
  • Support thought leadership articles
  • Write executive correspondence
  • Draft speeches
  • Prepare presentations
  • Coordinate stakeholder communication

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong commercial law background
  • Outstanding written and spoken English
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Strong business writing ability
  • 3–5 years post-call experience
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, CANVA (especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • LL.B and B.L. qualifications
  • Qualified Legal Practitioner in Nigeria

Salary
N300,000 - N600,000 per month.
