Job Title: Operations Manager (Head of PMO & Operations)

Location: Lagos

Description

  • This executive role is responsible for driving operational excellence, strengthening governance, leading the Project Management Office (PMO), and ensuring the successful execution of strategic projects across the Group's diverse business portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects are delivered within approved scope, budget, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Identify operational and project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing Operations and PMO teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Develop operational dashboards, performance reports, and executive-level reports.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure effective collaboration across business units.
  • Prepare periodic reports on operational performance, project portfolio status, KPIs, budget utilization, governance, compliance, and business continuity.
  • Work closely with Finance to monitor operational budgets, resource utilization, cost optimization, and annual planning.
  • Develop and implement operational governance frameworks, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and service standards.
  • Monitor business performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Lead the Group's Project Management Office (PMO) and oversee the successful delivery of strategic projects across multiple business units.
  • Drive process improvement, operational transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives across all subsidiaries.
  • Standardize project management methodologies, governance structures, reporting frameworks, and project controls across the Group.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives, workflow automation, and enterprise technology implementation.

Requirements

  • Must have 8–10 years' progressive experience in operations management, project management, or business operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, ISO Lead Implementer, or equivalent are highly desirable
  • MBA or Master's Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Strategic Management, or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-wide PMOs and managing complex cross-functional projects.
  • Experience in media, publishing, advertising, hospitality, consulting, technology, renewable energy, or related industries will be an advantage.
