Stockgap Fuels Limited - We are a leading oil and gas company operating in Nigeria’s downstream sector with head office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. To meet the growing demand of Nigeria’s Market, Stockgap Fuels Limited is expanding its LPG business by investing on additional storage and cylinder filling facility in 4 strategic locations spanning major regions of the country - Lagos/South-West, South-South/South-East, North-Central/North-West and North-East regions respectively.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Stock Control Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the examination, verification, and evaluation of operational activities to ensure that appropriate internal controls are functioning effectively and in compliance with company policies.
  • We are seeking a dedicated Stock Control Officer to ensure the financial and operational integrity of our business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement: Evaluate business procedures to guard against fraud and recommend operational improvements to the unit head.
  • Reporting: Generate daily loading and ROB reports for the Risk Officer and provide independent, objective reports on investigations into errors or irregularities.
  • Internal Controls: Implement audit strategies and action plans to promote transparency and accountability while identifying potential fraud risks or governance issues.
  • Inventory & Monitoring: Participate in daily opening and closing product tank dips and witness the ullaging of loaded trucks.
  • Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliations of dispatch and security registers and review diesel dispensing registers for accuracy.
  • Audit & Compliance: Conduct retail station audits, year-end inventory counts, and periodic fixed asset verifications.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: A B.Sc. or HND with a minimum of Second Class Upper/Upper Credit in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or Economics.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and investigate suspected internal fraud or errors.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to work with the ability to multi-task and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Communication: Excellent IT and communication skills, with the ability to report complex audit findings clearly and timely.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently or as part of a team while adjusting to changing circumstances.
