Job Title: Security Manager (Asset Recovery)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and highly disciplined Security Manager with a strong background in asset recovery, security operations, and risk management.
  • The Security Manager will be responsible for safeguarding the company's personnel, assets, facilities, and reputation while ensuring effective recovery of financed or company-owned assets.
  • The ideal candidate must possess prior military and/or law enforcement experience and demonstrate proven expertise in the recovery of company assets, investigations, intelligence gathering, and liaison with security agencies.

Key Responsibilities
Security Management:

  • Oversee physical security operations to protect company assets, facilities, and personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable security and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor security threats and provide timely intelligence reports to management.
  • Conduct regular security risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards across all company locations.

Asset Recovery Operations:

  • Develop effective recovery strategies to maximize asset retrieval while minimizing operational risks.
  • Lead and coordinate the recovery of financed, leased, or company-owned assets from defaulting customers or unauthorized users.
  • Track and monitor all recovery activities and maintain accurate recovery records.
  • Ensure all recovery activities are conducted professionally and within legal frameworks.
  • Manage field recovery teams and third-party recovery agents.

Investigations and Intelligence:

  • Gather, analyze, and disseminate intelligence relevant to asset protection and recovery operations.
  • Support legal proceedings by providing evidence and documentation when required.
  • Prepare investigation reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct investigations into fraud, theft, asset diversion, misconduct, and security breaches.

Stakeholder and Agency Liaison:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with military, police, civil defense, and other relevant security agencies.
  • Represent the company in security-related engagements with government and regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement authorities during asset recovery and investigation activities.

Team Leadership:

  • Conduct performance evaluations and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Develop training programs on security awareness, emergency response, and asset protection.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise security and recovery personnel.

Crisis and Emergency Management:

  • Develop contingency plans for security threats and crisis situations.
  • Lead emergency response initiatives during security incidents.
  • Ensure prompt investigation and resolution of all security incidents.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Reduction in asset losses and theft incidents.
  • Asset recovery success rate.
  • Recovery turnaround time.
  • Cost efficiency of recovery operations.
  • Security incident response effectiveness.
  • Compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Number of successful investigations completed.

Requirements
Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications in Security Management, Risk Management, Investigation, or Intelligence will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in asset tracking, repossession, recovery operations, and debt recovery enforcement.
  • Experience within financial services, fintech, automobile financing, logistics, leasing, or asset financing industries is highly preferred.
  • Prior service in the Military, Police, DSS, Civil Defence, or other recognized law enforcement agencies is mandatory.
  • 8 – 12 years of experience in security management, asset recovery, investigations, or law enforcement.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing asset recovery.
  • Excellent investigation and intelligence-gathering skills.
  • High level of integrity, discipline, and professionalism.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations and asset recovery techniques.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Former law enforcement officer with proven operational and investigative experience.
  • Demonstrated track record in managing high-value asset recovery operations.
  • Retired or serving military personnel eligible for civilian employment.
  • Strong network within security and law enforcement agencies across Nigeria.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and coordinate field operations nationwide.
