Job Title: Motion Graphics Designer

Job Description

  • The role requires exceptional creativity, storytelling ability, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of entertainment, television production, and social media content trends.
  • The Motion Graphics Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and producing visually compelling motion graphics, animations, broadcast graphics, and digital content that enhance HipTV's television programming and digital platforms.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate closely with producers, video editors, directors, digital media teams, marketing, and programming teams to deliver high-quality visual assets that strengthen the HipTV brand and engage audiences across television, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and other digital channels.

Key Responsibilities
Creative Design & Animation:

  • Create animated promotional materials for television programs, events, music shows, interviews, documentaries, and branded campaigns.
  • Design motion graphics for LED screens, digital displays, and event productions.
  • Develop animated explainer videos where required.
  • Design high-quality 2D and basic 3D motion graphics.
  • Produce engaging title sequences, show openers, lower thirds, transitions, animated logos, and broadcast packages.

Broadcast Graphics:

  • Design television-ready graphics that meet broadcast standards.
  • Create:
    • Name straps
    • Opening titles
    • Lower thirds
    • Channel IDs
    • Countdown animations
    • Closing sequences
    • End credits
    • Information graphics
    • Bugs and watermarks
    • Sponsor slates
  • Ensure graphics conform to HipTV's branding guidelines.

Social Media Content:

  • Develop engaging GIFs, stickers, animated posts, and promotional teasers.
  • Create animated promotional assets for entertainment news, celebrity interviews, music releases, and lifestyle content.
  • Produce short-form animated content optimized for:
    • Instagram Reels
    • X (Twitter)
    • YouTube Shorts
    • TikTok
    • Facebook

Video Production Support:

  • Support post-production with compositing, keying, tracking, and animation.
  • Collaborate with video editors to integrate motion graphics into television productions.
  • Design visual effects that enhance storytelling.
  • Assist during live broadcasts with graphics preparation when required.

Branding & Identity:

  • Maintain visual consistency across all HipTV productions.
  • Contribute innovative creative concepts that strengthen the station's visual identity.
  • Develop branded motion graphic templates for recurring programs.
  • Design animated logo reveals and identity packages.

Project Management:

  • Present concepts and revisions to internal stakeholders.
  • Interpret creative briefs and translate them into compelling visual solutions.
  • Maintain organized project files and design assets.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting production deadlines.

Innovation:

  • Continuously improve animation techniques and storytelling approaches.
  • Stay updated on emerging design trends, animation techniques, AI-assisted creative tools, and broadcast technologies.
  • Recommend creative improvements that enhance production quality and workflow efficiency.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • File organization and asset management compliance.

  • Quality and creativity of motion graphics produced.

Requirements

  • Professional certifications in Adobe Creative Suite, Motion Graphics, or Animation are an added advantage.
  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Graphic Design, Animation, Multimedia, Fine Arts, Mass Communication, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in motion graphics, television production, advertising, media, or digital content creation.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating motion graphics, animation, and broadcast work is mandatory.
  • Experience working in a television station, production company, creative agency, or digital media organization is highly preferred.

Technical Skills:
