Job Title: Microbiologist

Location: KM51, Ogun

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Microbiologist to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting microbiological analysis, ensuring product safety and quality compliance, and supporting the implementation of food safety and quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Production teams to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Monitor hygiene standards and support contamination control initiatives.
  • Perform microbial analysis, identification, and interpretation of laboratory results.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Support food safety programmes, including HACCP, GMP, and quality management systems.
  • Conduct investigations into microbiological deviations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, water, and environmental samples.
  • Support internal and external quality audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in microbiology testing, preferably within the food, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of microbiological testing methods and laboratory practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.
