Job Description

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating tablet compression machines, ensuring consistent product quality, and maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory standards.
  • We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Compression Machine Operator to join our pharmaceutical manufacturing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in validation and calibration activities when required.
  • Perform in-process checks such as tablet weight, hardness, thickness, and friability.
  • Set up machines according to batch manufacturing records (BMR) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate and monitor tablet compression machines to produce high-quality pharmaceutical products.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machine faults or production issues promptly.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams to maintain product standards.
  • Minimize wastage and ensure optimal machine efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies within the production area.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all production activities in line with GMP requirements.
  • Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance of compression equipment.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Ability to work in shifts and under minimal supervision.
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret batch manufacturing records (BMR).
  • Minimum of O’Level (WAEC/NECO)
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience operating compression machines in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and pharmaceutical production processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
