Job Summary

• The Accounts Officer is responsible for managing accounts payable processes, inventory accounting, supplier reconciliations, and expense postings.
• The role ensures accuracy in financial records, proper documentation of transactions, and timely reconciliation of supplier accounts in line with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and account for Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), including Goods Received Notes (GRNs), and perform accurate 3-way matching (PO–GRN–Invoice).
• Record inventory receipts and ensure proper documentation and valuation.
• Perform detailed supplier account reconciliations by:
• Matching supplier statements with ledger balances
• Identifying and resolving variances such as unposted invoices, debit/credit notes, and timing differences
• Post operating expenses accurately into the accounting system.
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of General Ledger postings related to payables, inventory, and expenses.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of reconciliations and audit schedules.
• Provide necessary documentation and support for internal and external audits.
• Ensure proper filing and organization of financial records and supporting documents.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Chief Accountant.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3-4 years of relevant experience in accounts payable, inventory accounting, or financial operations.
• Experience with ERP / accounting systems is an added advantage.

Salary
N350,000 monthly.
