Job Summary


  • Clinix Healthcare is seeking an experienced, leadership-oriented, and quality-driven Laboratory Manager to oversee all laboratory operations at our Awka branch.
  • The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of the laboratory department.
  • Supervise laboratory scientists, technicians, and support staff.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and reliable performance of all laboratory tests.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality control and quality assurance systems.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration, and inventory management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control, and biohazard waste management.
  • Liaise with clinicians and management on laboratory results and service improvement.
  • Prepare monthly laboratory reports, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Conduct staff training, performance appraisals, and continuous professional development.
  • Manage external quality assurance programs and regulatory compliance.

Requirements & Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality management systems, and ISO standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) degree from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of post-NYSC experience in a medical laboratory, with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Laboratory Management or Quality Assurance is an added advantage.
  • National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate (completed).
