Purpose of the Role


  • The successful candidate will be responsible for driving HR strategy, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, HR policies, compliance, and other people-related initiatives that support the Bank's growth and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and people-management strategies.
  • Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding and workforce planning activities.
  • Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes and workplace grievances.
  • Drive performance management, appraisal and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate staff training and development programmes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure proper HR documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations and internal policies.
  • Advise management on employee-related matters and support effective decision-making.
  • Develop and monitor HR metrics, reports and workforce-related data.
  • Support organisational culture, staff retention and employee welfare initiatives.
  • Manage payroll inputs, leave administration and other HR operations where applicable.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior HR/administrative staff.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree/HND in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, management, psychology or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably within a microfinance bank,commercial bank, financial institution or other regulated organization.
  • Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI or equivalentis an advantage, and an MSc in related fields
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian employment practices and HR compliance.
  • Demonstrable experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management and training.
  • Experience working with HR policies, documentation and HR reporting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the Anambra business/workforce environment and languages is an advantage.
