We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

  • The successful candidate will work closely with the Procurement Manager to review and validate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) prepared by the Senior Quantity Surveyor before procurement activities commence.
  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Quantity Surveyor to support project costing, BOQ verification, and procurement processes.
  • The role serves as a critical quality control function, ensuring quantity accuracy, cost reasonableness, specification compliance, and procurement readiness across all projects.

Key Responsibilities
BOQ Verification & Cost Validation:

  • Cross-check quantities against approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Validate unit rates, material specifications, and measurement calculations.
  • Identify omissions, discrepancies, duplication of quantities, or potential costing errors.
  • Review and verify BOQs submitted by the Senior Quantity Surveyor for completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepare observations and recommendations before BOQs are approved for procurement.

Procurement Support:

  • Work directly with the Procurement Manager during vendor sourcing and procurement planning.
  • Assist in developing procurement schedules based on approved BOQs.
  • Ensure procured quantities align with approved project requirements.
  • Support bid analysis and vendor comparison exercises.
  • Review supplier quotations against approved quantities and specifications.

Cost Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of project cost estimates and procurement budgets.
  • Highlight potential cost overruns and quantity-related risks.
  • Assist in preparing cost reports and procurement analysis reports.
  • Track material utilization and quantity variations during project execution.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain organized records of BOQs, quotations, procurement documents, and project cost records.
  • Support internal audits and project cost reviews when required.
  • Ensure compliance with Hall 7's procurement procedures and project standards.

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • Experience working on residential, commercial, or real estate development projects is an advantage.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Estimation, or Construction Procurement.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of BOQ preparation and measurement principles.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, rates, and procurement processes.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
