Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria (SHIN) is a key player in Nigeria's oil and gas and maritime industries, serving as the prime African subsidiary of the global shipbuilding giant, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) of Korea. Established in August 2011, SHIN has a fabrication and integration yard in Lagos. This facility is notable as Africa's first-ever and only Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) integration yard.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Air Conditioning (AC) Technician

Location: Ladol, Lagos Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance tasks performed.
  • Maintenance & Inspection: Perform routine preventative maintenance (e.g., cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, replacing filters, and inspecting electrical connections) to maximize system efficiency and lifespan.
  • Customer Service: Explain technical issues and repair options clearly to clients or internal stakeholders, providing accurate time and cost estimates.
  • Installation & Upgrades: Install new air conditioning, heating, and ventilation units, ensuring all systems conform to specifications and safety codes.
  • Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot malfunctions in AC systems, identify root causes, and repair or replace defective parts (such as compressors, thermostats, motors, and fans).
  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including the proper handling, recovery, and disposal of refrigerants (EPA guidelines).

Qualifications & Skills

  • Certification: HVAC technician license is a major plus.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC technical training program or apprenticeship is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 3–7 years of proven experience as an AC/HVAC technician in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
