Job Title: Accounts Officer

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Description

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Account Officer to support the financial operations of a mission-driven organisation in the education and community development sector
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor organisational expenses and support budget tracking and forecasting activities.
  • Assist with statutory remittances, including taxes and other regulatory obligations.
  • Reconcile bank statements, petty cash accounts, and other financial records regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
  • Support annual audit processes by preparing and organising required financial documentation.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and cash flow summaries.
  • Process payments, reimbursements, and vendor invoices in line with approved procedures.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including all income and expenditure transactions.
  • Liaise with vendors, service providers, and financial institutions on payment-related matters.

Key Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • 2–3 years' experience in an accounting, finance, or administrative role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
  • Experience with accounting software is an added advantage.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) or progress towards certification is an added advantage.

Salary
N100,000 monthly + Paid Holidays.
