We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Site Engineer

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The role involves monitoring daily site operations, managing site resources, and ensuring work is executed efficiently and in compliance with company policies.
  • The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating construction activities on-site to ensure projects are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site measurements and verify completed work for payment and record purposes.
  • Interpret and implement approved construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
  • Ensure construction materials are used efficiently and report shortages or wastage.
  • Ensure all works comply with approved quality standards and engineering specifications.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with company policies, statutory regulations, and client requirements.
  • Monitor the proper use and maintenance of construction tools and equipment.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
  • Attend site meetings and provide technical support to the Project Manager.
  • Inspect ongoing works and identify defects or non-conformities, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site.
  • Verify that materials delivered to the site meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinate the activities of subcontractors, artisans, and site workers.
  • Assist in resolving technical and construction-related challenges.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including work progress, inspections, material usage, and site instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on-site.
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure work is completed according to schedule and budget.

Qualifications

  • Membership or registration with relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Structural Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant site engineering experience in the construction industry.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of site reports.
  • Client and Project Manager satisfaction with site performance.
  • Good project coordination and supervision skills.
  • Compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and engineering principles.
  • Quality of completed work and reduction in rework.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Compliance with approved project schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Efficient utilization of construction materials and resources.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of construction quality control and assurance procedures.
  • Timely completion of construction activities.
  • Number of quality or safety non-conformities recorded.

Salary
N250,000 - N600,000 monthly.
