About the role

• Practitioner pharmacist delivering dispensing and clinical pharmacy services, ensuring the safe, effective and lawful use of medicines.

Responsibilities

• Handle and document controlled medicines in line with PCN and national requirements.
• Dispense medicines accurately and provide clinical pharmacy input to patient care.
• Contribute to formulary management, medicines information and pharmacovigilance.
• Participate in quality assurance, audit and continuing professional development.
• Support procurement, storage, stock control and distribution of medicines.

Requirements
Education:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognised institution; completion of the required national internship/pre-registration training and NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of post-registration/post-internship experience in the relevant profession; newly registered practitioners may be considered; post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy practice; clinical/technical competence appropriate to the role, exercised with appropriate supervision.

Required skills:

• Competent use of pharmacy systems
• Understanding of medicines safety and pharmacovigilanceAccurate record-keeping
• Effective communication with clinical colleagues radiation safety, quality improvement or service improvement in imaging.
• Competence in dispensing, stock control and controlled-medicines handling
• Knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice appropriate to the role

Nice to have:

• Certification relevant to hospital or clinical pharmacy.
• Membership of a recognised pharmacy professional body
