Fenchurch Group is recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Network Management Lead

Location: Nigeria

Role Purpose

  • The Network Management Lead is accountable for the technical integrity, reliability, and efficiency of the distribution network. This successful candidate shall own feeder uptime, fault response, planned maintenance, and the network-side contribution to ATC&C loss reduction.

Key Responsibilties
Network Operations & Reliability:

  • Manages outage response, ensure faults are resolved promptly, and that root cause is documented for every outage
  • Maintain and regularly update the asset register for all distribution infrastructure: 33/11kV transformers, distribution transformers, feeders, feeder pillars, LV lines, and meters
  • Coordinate and owns feeder availability implements a preventive maintenance programme that ensures network availability and resilience.

Energy Accounting & Technical Loss Reduction:

  • Coordinate with the Commercial Lead on energy balance reconciliation to distinguish technical losses from commercial losses
  • Implement targeted network upgrades (reconductoring, DT replacement, reactive power compensation) against a prioritised loss-reduction plan
  • Identify and address sources of technical loss: overloaded transformers, high-impedance connections, inadequate conductor sizing, poor earthing
  • Conduct weekly energy management analysis on the network based on the energy received from Grid.

Field Team Management:

  • Directly manage the Drivers, approve trip schedules, review logbooks, and ensure vehicle is field-ready at all times
  • Supervise Network Management Officers, set daily work plans, review completed tasks, and ensure documentation
  • Coordinate with other relevant team members on joint field investigations involving suspected technical tampering or metering anomalies
  • Ensure appropriate use of PPEs on every task, whilst ensuring zero tolerance for unsafe work practices

Revenue Enforcement Support:

  • Provide technical support to commercial disconnection/reconnection operations, ensure all connections comply with network standards
  • Identify and report illegal connections; support the commercial team in revenue assurance activities
  • Maintain Distribution Transformer load data to support energy accounting and reconciliation

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proficiency in load flow analysis, fault diagnosis, and network energy accounting
  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent); COREN registration is advantageous
  • Hands-on experience with feeder automation, SCADA, or AMR systems is an advantage
  • Minimum 10 years in electricity distribution, with direct experience managing 33/11kV or 11kV/415V networks
