Job Title: Construction Manager, Roads & Pavements

Location: Nigeria (flexible within Nigeria)

Job Brief

  • Our client seeks to recruit an experienced and commercially minded Construction Manager to lead and manage road and pavements construction and rehabilitation projects using innovative soil stabilization solutions across Nigeria.
  • The successful candidate will serve as the company’s lead road construction professional, combining technical engineering expertise, project management capability, and business development support to drive successful project delivery and market adoption of the technology.
  • The role requires strong experience in road construction, pavement engineering, contractor management, client engagement, and infrastructure project execution within Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operations Management:

  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian engineering, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Supervise all site activities and ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Lead and manage road construction and rehabilitation projects from planning to completion.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, BOQs, method statements, work plans, and project documentation.
  • Monitor construction quality, material usage, project costs, and overall performance.
  • Conduct site assessments, soil evaluations, and pavement design reviews.

Business Development & Commercial Support:

  • Provide techno-commercial input for project pricing, planning, and execution strategies.
  • Engage with government agencies, contractors, consultants, and infrastructure developers to identify project opportunities.
  • Support market penetration and adoption of the company’s soil stabilizationsolutions.
  • Support business development efforts for soil stabilization solutions and use cases across Nigeria.
  • Participate in client meetings, technical presentations, proposal preparation, and tender submissions.

Professional Qualifications
Essential:

  • Proven experience managing road construction or rehabilitation projects inNigeria.
  • Ability to travel extensively within Nigeria at short notice.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Must be a registered member of COREN.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Good commercial awareness with ability to support cost control/optimization, business development and client engagement.
  • Must be younger than 50 years of age and in good health.
  • Strong knowledge of pavement systems, soil stabilization methods, and construction quality control.
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in road and pavement design and construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard engineering/project management tools.

Competitive Advantage

  • Experience with innovative road construction technologies or alternative pavement solutions.
