Job Title: HSSEQ Manager

Location: Nigeria

Job Summary

• Coordinate all HSSEQ-related matters, onshore and offshore.
• Responsible for building a strong safety culture both onshore and offshore.

Core Responsibilities
Onshore / Office HSSEQ:

• Interface with external auditors, Class, and other regulatory bodies on Nigerian office HSSEQ matters.
• Follow up on incidents and Non-Conformances (NCs), ensuring full compliance with HSSEQ-related rules and regulations.
• Drive continuous improvements within the Company Management System.
• Generate monthly HSSEQ reports and conduct monthly office inspections.
• Provide general security oversight, supporting the Company Security Officer (CSO) and Designated Person Ashore (DPA) locally.
• Serve as an active member of the Emergency Response & Security Team and arrange regular emergency response exercises.
• Maintain and update all valid governing documentation for the Nigerian office.
• Deliver Safety & Security induction training for new employees, alongside general HSSEQ and Risk Management training.
• Manage internal and external audits in cooperation with the procurement/purchasing department.
• Coordinate the Company Management Review process.

Offshore / On-Board HSSEQ:

• General Operations & HSSEQ Training:
• Follow up on and analyze incident reporting on board, actively motivating crew members to improve reporting cultures.
• Interface with external auditors, Class, and other bodies regarding Nigerian operational HSSEQ matters.
• Facilitate structured Risk Management sessions, risk training, and safety leadership training on board the units.
• Provide localized security oversight and support to the CSO and DPA for maritime and field operations.
• Maintain all valid governing documentation specifically for the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units.
• Conduct internal operational audits.

Requirements
Working Experience:

• Direct experience auditing offshore operations, with specific emphasis on FPSOs.
• Deep familiarity with international standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISM, and ISPS.
• A sound understanding of risk assessment methodologies and robust safety management systems.
• Proven service and experience in the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry within the field of Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality (HSSEQ) Management.
• Strong proficiency in supervising HSSEQ functions of a highly operational nature.
• Demonstrated experience in managing safety/health campaigns and delivering in-house training programs for both crew and office staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, HSSEQ, or another relevant technical discipline.
• Core Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and people management skills.
• Language: Fluent in English with strong communication capabilities.
