We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Group Head, New Media

Location: Head Office, Lagos

Job Summary

  • The incumbent will provide strategic leadership for the New Media Office, overseeing digital communications strategy, corporate websites, social media, content development, multimedia production, digital monitoring, reputation intelligence, and real-time communications.
  • The role serves as the strategic custodian of the Group's digital communications ecosystem, ensuring that all digital channels effectively support the Group's corporate objectives, brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and reputation.
  • The Group Head, New Media will be responsible for leading the Dangote Group's digital communications function and driving the Group's digital presence, online reputation, and audience engagement across all digital platforms.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop policies, standards, and governance frameworks for digital communications across the Group.
  • Develop and implement the Group's digital communications strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the New Media Office, ensuring operational excellence and high team performance.
  • Drive innovation by identifying and adopting emerging digital media trends, technologies, and best practices.

Digital Platforms & Content Management:

  • Establish content governance standards to ensure consistency, quality, accessibility, and alignment with the Dangote brand.
  • Oversee editorial planning, content calendars, publishing schedules, and digital content distribution.
  • Direct the production of high-quality multimedia content, including videos, graphics, photography, animations, and digital campaigns.
  • Lead the management, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Group's corporate websites and digital platforms.

Social Media & Digital Engagement:

  • Design and implement strategies to grow digital audiences, improve engagement, and strengthen brand advocacy.
  • Lead the management of all corporate social media platforms and digital engagement channels.
  • Oversee community management and stakeholder engagement across digital platforms.
  • Develop initiatives that enhance the Group's digital visibility and strengthen executive thought leadership.

Digital Reputation Management:

  • Lead the Group's digital reputation management strategy.
  • Oversee social listening, media monitoring, sentiment analysis, and digital intelligence activities.
  • Identify emerging digital issues, risks, and opportunities and provide proactive recommendations.
  • Coordinate real-time digital communications during issues, incidents, and crisis situations to protect the Group's reputation.

Analytics & Performance Management:

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all digital communication activities.
  • Use data and insights to continuously improve content effectiveness, audience engagement, and digital platform performance.
  • Produce regular performance dashboards and strategic reports for executive leadership.

Stakeholder Collaborations:

  • Coordinate digital communications initiatives across the Group to maintain consistency, brand integrity, and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications, Branding, Investor Relations, Human Resources, Sustainability, Business Units, and Executive Leadership to ensure aligned messaging across all digital channels.
  • Provide strategic digital communications counsel to senior leadership and support enterprise-wide communication initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven track record of developing and executing digital communications strategies that enhance brand reputation and stakeholder engagement.
  • 12 - 15 years' relevant experience in digital communications, media, corporate communications, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
  • A Master's degree or relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience within a large corporate organization, multinational company, media organization, or leading communications agency.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role managing enterprise-wide digital communications functions.
