Job Title: Generator Operator

Location: Abeokuta, Ogun

Job Summary

• We are looking for an experienced and reliable Generator Operator to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, servicing, and maintenance of industrial generators, ensuring uninterrupted power supply across the farm.
• The successful candidate must have hands-on experience with JMG, Caterpillar (CAT), and Mikano generators, and be capable of diagnosing faults, carrying out routine servicing, and responding promptly to generator breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor industrial generators to ensure continuous power supply
• Carry out oil changes, filter replacements, coolant checks, and other scheduled maintenance
• Maintain accurate generator running hours and maintenance records
• Maintain cleanliness of the generator house and surrounding work area
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults
• Ensure generators are always in optimal working condition
• Adhere to all safety procedures and operational standards
• Respond quickly to generator breakdowns and emergency situations
• Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on generators
• Monitor fuel consumption and report any irregularities

Requirements

• Proven experience with JMG, Caterpillar (CAT), and Mikano generators
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating and maintaining industrial generators
• Experience in a farm, factory, manufacturing, or industrial environment is an added advantage.
• Ability to diagnose and repair generator faults independently
• Good knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and generator control panels
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices
• Minimum of OND, Trade Test, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification
