Job Description

• Our client is seeking an experienced, ISPON certified and highly disciplined Safety Officer to champion its Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) culture across multiple project sites.
• The successful candidate will lead HSE implementation, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a proactive safety culture on every site.
• This is a critical role for a safety professional who understands that every successful construction project begins with a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Support project teams in maintaining world-class safety standards
• Implement and enforce the company's HSE policies across all project sites
• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits
• Ensure compliance with statutory HSE regulations and client requirements
• Lead toolbox talks, safety inductions, and workforce awareness programmes
• Prepare HSE reports, documentation, and regulatory compliance records
• Monitor the proper use of PPE and safe work procedures

The Ideal Candidate

• Strong understanding of construction hazards, risk management, and safety legislation
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to project locations
• High level of integrity, discipline, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and incident investigation skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred) or a related discipline
• HSE Levels 1, 2 & 3 certified by the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) (Mandatory)
• 3–5 years' hands-on HSE experience in the construction industry
