Job Title: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer

Job Summary
- The EHS Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety systems at the CPT Oral Care plant to ensure full compliance with legal requirements, company standards, and best industry practices.
- The role supports safe manufacturing operations, environmental stewardship, and employee well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs in line with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental laws applicable to manufacturing and chemical handling.
- Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSA), and hazard identification for plant operations.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor environmental aspects such as effluent, emissions, waste management, and chemical storage.
- Organize safety trainings, toolbox talks, emergency drills, and EHS awareness programs for employees and contractors.
- Maintain EHS documentation, permits, registers, and regulatory reports.
- Support internal and external audits (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, GMP, FMCG standards).
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across the plant.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following (or related fields):
- Environmental Science
- Occupational Health & Safety
- Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Industrial)
- Chemistry or Industrial Safety
Professional Certifications (Required / Advantage):
- NEBOSH IGC or NEBOSH General Certificate
- ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) Lead/Internal Auditor
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) Lead/Internal Auditor
- HSE Level 3 or equivalent certification
- Membership of a recognized safety body (e.g., IOSH, ISPON) is an added advantage
Experience & Skills:
- 2–5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment (oral care, personal care, or chemical processing preferred).
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety, environmental regulations, and GMP requirements.
- Good communication, training, and leadership skills.
- Ability to conduct audits, inspections, and safety trainings.
- Proficiency in MS Office and EHS reporting tools.
Salary
N250,000 – N300,000 / month.
