Job Position: Experience Account Officer
Job Location: Ojota, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
- Journal Entries: Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately recorded
- Accounts Receivable: Updating accounts receivable and issuing invoices to clients
- Accounts Payable: Updating accounts payable and performing reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Financial Statements: Assisting in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements in accordance with legal and company accounting guidelines
- Expense Review: Reviewing expenses, payroll records, and other assigned tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Financial Data Management: Updating financial data in databases to ensure accuracy and timely availability of information
- Reporting: Preparing and submitting weekly and monthly reports to management
- Month-End/Year-End Closings: Assisting senior accountants in the preparation of monthly and yearly closings
- Special Projects: Assisting with other accounting projects as assigned by management
Requirements
To be considered for the position of an experienced accountant, the following requirements must be met:
- Professional Certification: Possession of a professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
- Minimum Experience: At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry or role
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and laws, including tax laws and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
Key Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of financial planning and budgeting
- Experience with financial analysis and reporting
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree: A Master's Degree in Accounting or a related field
- Specialized Certifications: Possession of specialized certifications such as CFA or CPA
- Industry Experience: Experience working in a similar industry or role
- Leadership Experience: Experience leading a team or supervising staff
Salary
N120,000 - N350,000 / Month.
