Job Description

  • The role focuses on delivering projects within scope, budget, and timelines while driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.
  • The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing technical investment projects across factory operations, ensuring alignment with business strategy and industrial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of a multi-year plan to ensure the performance of existing industrial assets and the technical and technological development of European factories.
  • Manage or be part of cross-functional project teams with a project organization and not a matrix organization structure.
  • Support factories in the implementation of the on-going digitization process and manage OT (operational technology) issues.
  • Manage administrative tasks of projects in terms of: CAPEX request, purchase order, billing verification, etc.
  • Manage commercial negotiations of technical systems with the support of the purchasing department if needed.
  • Define the technical specifications and requirements of each project you are involved in, in order to request offers to suppliers and analyze them from a technical and economic point of view.
  • Operate with a continuous improvement perspective when defining and implementing efficiency projects and/or waste reduction personally identified or assigned by the direct manager, as well as technically support efficiency projects of other functions.
  • Manage the technical projects assigned by the direct manager with the use of specific processes and tools of the project management methodology to achieve the performance objective in terms of quality, budget and timing.
  • Design new and modify existing plants for sustainable engineering in terms of environmental impact and energy efficiency (reduction of consumption and CO2 footprint) as for CO2 zero emission roadmap of our Sustainability department.

Requirements
Behavorial & Technical Competencies:

  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently, make decisions, and lead initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of the business.
  • Excellence data analysis and reporting.
  • Good contract, negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Minimum of (10) years of experience in project management or similar role.
  • Possess good planning and organizing skills.
  • Strong FMCG experience is an added advantage.
  • Availability to travel across Africa.
  • Strong leadership, attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Budgeting & cost control.
  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while ensuring system reliability and service continuity.
  • Ability to understand core engineering principles, prepare, review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical reports.
