Erkang Pharmaceuticals is a multinational manufacturer of pharmaceutical products starting up in Ilorin, Kwara State Nigeria. Erkang Pharmaceutical is one of the largest manufacturers of Large Volume Parenterals (Infusion) and other products in the world.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Ilorin, Kwara
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • They manage power distribution, industrial automation, and equipment maintenance, ensuring 100% uptime while strictly adhering to pharmaceutical safety and regulatory standards
  • The electrical engineer in our LVP (Large Volume Parenterals) infusion company ensures the continuous, sterile, and compliant operation of IV fluid manufacturing machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Power & Utility Management: Supervise the plant’s electrical power systems, including medium/low voltage switchgears, transformers, emergency diesel generators, and uninterrupted power supplies (UPS.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all machinery and facility electrical systems comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), WHO, and local regulatory standards.
  • Automation & Control: Troubleshoot and program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA systems, and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) used to regulate fluid mixing, heating, and packaging.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose electrical faults, perform root-cause analysis (RCA) on machine failures, and implement modifications to improve efficiency.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Execute Preventative and Predictive Maintenance (PPM) on critical pharmaceutical equipment, including auto-claves, water purification (WFI) systems, and filling lines to prevent production downtime
  • Documentation: Maintain rigorous logs of electrical inspections, equipment calibrations, and ISO standard documentations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, emergency response capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary production teams
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of industrial instrumentation, relay logic, control panels, and electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP)
  • Experience: 7 to 10 years of hands-on electrical engineering experience, preferably within Large Volume Parenterals (LVP) pharmaceutical production.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BSc / BEng) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field.
