Carifika Network for Sustainable Development (CNSD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to promoting inclusive and sustainable development across Nigeria and Africa. CNSD works with governments, communities, civil society organizations, development partners, and the private sector to address pressing social, economic, and public health challenges affecting vulnerable and underserved populations.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Communication Specialist (Intern)

Locations: Abuja (FCT) & Benue
Employment Type: Internship

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance CNSD’s visibility and brand identity.
  • Create engaging content for social media platforms, website, newsletters, and reports.
  • Support the documentation of project activities, success stories, and impact reports.
  • Manage and schedule content across CNSD’s digital platforms.
  • Assist in designing communication materials such as flyers, briefs, and presentations.
  • Support media engagement and public relations activities.
  • Monitor digital engagement and prepare basic analytics reports.
  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure accurate and compelling storytelling.
  • Support advocacy campaigns and awareness-raising initiatives.
  • Perform other communication-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or ongoing study in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, Marketing, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Basic knowledge of social media management and digital communication tools.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) is an added advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for social impact, development communication, and advocacy.
