We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Church Administrator

Location: Ajao Estate, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: Senior Pastor

Job Summary

  • The Church Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the church to ensure efficient service delivery and support the church's mission and vision.
  • The role coordinates church operations, manages administrative staff and volunteers, maintains records, oversees facilities, supports church events, and ensures that administrative processes are effective, organized, and compliant with church policies.

Key Responsibilities
Administrative Management:

  • Oversee the daily administrative operations of the church.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain administrative policies and procedures.
  • Manage the church calendar and coordinate scheduling of services, meetings, and special events.
  • Maintain accurate church records, including membership databases, correspondence, and official documentation.
  • Prepare reports, meeting minutes, and administrative documents as required.

Office Management:

  • Manage office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure volunteers understand their roles and receive necessary support.
  • Coordinate volunteers for church programs and events.
  • Support staff welfare and facilitate performance review processes.
  • Respond to inquiries from members, visitors, and external stakeholders promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure proper filing systems (physical and electronic) are maintained.
  • Supervise office operations to ensure efficiency and professionalism.

Finance & Asset Administration:

  • Monitor maintenance schedules for church properties and equipment.
  • Work closely with the Finance Department to monitor administrative budgets.
  • Coordinate procurement processes in accordance with church policies.
  • Maintain inventory of church assets and equipment.

Facility & Logistics Management:

  • Oversee logistics for church services, conferences, weddings, funerals, and other events.
  • Ensure venue setup aligns with the requirements of each church program.
  • Ensure church facilities are clean, safe, functional, and well maintained.
  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and renovation projects.

Event Coordination:

  • Support planning and execution of church events and special programs.
  • Ensure resources and facilities are available for successful program delivery.
  • Coordinate logistics with ministry leaders and service departments.

Communication & Member Support:

  • Serve as the primary administrative contact for members and visitors.
  • Assist in communicating church announcements and administrative updates.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive church information.
  • Coordinate internal communication with ministries and departments.

Compliance & Governance:

  • Ensure church operations comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to church policies, safeguarding guidelines, and operational standards.
  • Support church leadership during audits, inspections, and governance meetings.
  • Maintain licenses, permits, and other statutory documentation where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in administration, office management, church administration, or a related role.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Experience with church management software is an added advantage.
  • Strong planning and coordination abilities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
