The Plug Global Agency (originally founded as The Plug Entertainment) is an award-winning, full-service entertainment, talent management, and culture agency based in Lagos, Nigeria. Co-founded in August 2016 by prominent music executives Asa Asika and Abiodun "Bizzle" Osikoya (with Tobi Mohammed joining as partner and COO in 2022), the agency acts as a primary driving force behind the global expansion of Afrobeats and African youth culture.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Communications Officer / PR Director

Description

  • This role is responsible for shaping how The Plug Global and its clients are perceived in the public sphere, protecting equity, influencing perception and driving commercial outcomes through strategic communications.

Key Responsibilties

  • marketing, and communications.
  • "Internal Communications & Culture - Shape internal narrative and employee engagement. Ensure leadership messaging is consistent, clear, and reinforces culture across the agency.
  • Public Affairs & Narrative Influence-Position the agency strategically within industry and policy conversations.
  • Stakeholder & Media Relations - Serve as the agency's primary spokesperson and counsel leadership on media engagement.
  • brand equity during high-stakes situations.
  • Executive Communications & Thought Leadership - Develop thought leadership platforms for executives to position the agency as an authority in culture,
  • Corporate & Reputation Strategy - Align messaging, positioning and narrative with business objectives, brand identity and leadership vision across all touchpoints.
  • Crisis & Issues Management - Lead advanced crisis communications and reputation risk management with rapid response protocols to protect

Requirements

  • Executive Presence: Boardroom credibility.
  • Proven track record managing high-profile crisis management
  • Strategic Narrative: Exceptional ability to frame complex issues into compelling narratives that influence perception and drive outcomes.
  • Media Authority: Deep relationships with top-tier media houses, editors and broadcast platforms
  • Commercial Acument: Understands how reputation, trust and perception translate directly to business value and client growth.
  • Experience: 5 - 7 years in strategic communications, corporate PR, or public affairs.
