Job Title: Resident Formation Mentor

Location: Sangotedo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Start Date: 1 June 2026
Reports To: Lead Resident Formation Mentor

About the Role

  • Resident Formation Mentors are the daily formative and maternal presence in the lives of the students.
  • Each mentor lives with and is responsible for an assigned group of approximately 20 girls — accompanying them through the full rhythm of residential community life, from morning prayer to evening rest, while mentoring their growth across all five formation pillars.
  • This is a deeply relational role at its core: to know each girl, walk alongside her, and help her grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and accompany an assigned group of learners across all five formation pillars.
  • Collaborate with academic teachers and vocational trainers to reinforce formation values.
  • Monitor student wellbeing, physical health, and engagement, reporting concerns promptly.
  • Adhere to and uphold all student welfare and protection policies.
  • Support students in developing self-discipline, responsibility, and healthy relational habits.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one check-ins and structured formation reflection sessions with each student.
  • Live residentially with students and govern the daily rhythm of community life — prayer, meals, rest, hygiene, and household order.
  • Participate in formation team meetings and ongoing programme review.

Who We Are Looking For

  • A Police Character Certificate and satisfactory references, including from a parish priest or Catholic community leader.
  • A female Catholic with a living faith and genuine love for young people.
  • Willingness to live residentially and commit fully to the community life of the Centre.
  • Emotional maturity, patience, and the capacity for warm but firm guidance.
  • Completion of student welfare and protection training before commencement (training will be provided).
  • Experience in youth work, mentoring, residential care, teaching, or pastoral ministry.
