Job Title: Regional Sales Manager, South East

Locations: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo

Job Summary

  • Develop and execute the company’s business plan, including sales targets and forming strategic relationships with key customers, Partnerships, government, and other stakeholders.
  • As the Regional Sales Lead, under the supervision of the National Sales Manager (NSM) and the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will be the company’s senior sales representative in the region and take accountability for overall business performance in the territory to achieve the company’s sales goals along defined metrics.
  • This role is central to driving performance across our sales networks, including dealership, MFIs, direct sales teams, and strategic partnerships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sales and Distribution:

  • Work with the NSM and management to create and establish well researched processes, standard operations and policies in the sales department.
  • Support of sell-out activities in specialized trade and dealer’s outlets. Monitoring and Supervision:
  • Ensure products availability in all locations and outlets by monitoring inventories and ensuring prompt delivering.
  • Accountable for overall sales/business performance in the region by ensuring that sales team targets are met.
  • Analyse all sales reports and data by the sales officers to ascertain their authenticity, strength, and weaknesses.
  • Monitor stock levels of dealers, distributors, and partners for prompt replenishment to avoid stock-outs.
  • Manage the company’s own retail outlets and manage a direct sales team to drive sales output within the region of coverage.
  • Maintain a hitch-free delivery to the customers and sales team across various locations/outlets and strive to resolve complaints within 24 hours if they arise.
  • Monitor and supervise the activities of all sales officers and Partnership sales officers.
  • Assist sales officers in onboarding new partnership branches (LAPO &GROMMING), distributors, and dealers regularly to increase the company’s market share.
  • Carry out proper planning and coordination of all marketing events/promotions to create awareness, enhance sales volume and achieve desired results.

Planning and Strategy:

  • Lead development and implementation of the Trade Marketing strategies to achieve defined business growth and objectives across all sales channels.
  • Develop and execute marketing initiatives to promote the company’s offerings to its target market.
  • Develop and execute the marketing and sales plan, including sales targets and form strategic relationships with key customers, and stakeholders.
  • Use market research capabilities to plan for and implement an appropriate approach based on the understanding of the organizations target market and competitors.

Reporting:

  • Gather market intelligence and provide market insight to other Sales/Marketing teams and management to shape winning marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure prompt submission of daily, weekly and monthly sales report by all Sales officers and incorporate same in the regional reports.
  • Review each sales report submitted along defined metrics and advise management on best strategies and practices to ensure sales performance.

Management:

  • Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews of all sales team members in the region.
  • Motivate regional staff by leading by example, resolving conflicts, and driving business performance.
  • Manage the company’s sales officers and the outlets (partnerships) to drive sales output.

Other Essential Duties:

  • Identify the training needs of the sales officers and ensure timely and routine training exercises.
  • Maintain a hitch-free delivery to the customers within the region and strive to resolve complaints within 24 hours if they arise.
  • Work closely with the management to drives pricing activity of all products in line with current economic realities.
  • Drive improvement of customer satisfaction and solves elevated customer issues in relation to product.
  • Recommends marketing process changes that will improve Organizational Productivity.
  • Represent and promote the company’s image in the industry and Region.
  • Develop work plans for sales officers and Customer Relations Officers to deliver product line results; provide guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegate work assignments considering employee skills and development needs.
  • Drives available marketing resources and uses those resources appropriately and as needed.

Relevant Skill Sets Needed:

  • Team management: Expert ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a team to meet sales goals.
  • Sales knowledge: Extensive understanding of sales funnels, processes, and functions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills are helpful for connecting with clients and sales subordinates across the region, especially regarding timely information and follow-up.
  • Creativity: The ability to create innovative sales ideas to help the company grow its revenue and profits. Strong creativity skills needed to collaborate with the team as well as the management as a regional/state manager in the aspect of the company’s operations.
  • Proactive: The ability to seedily address issues before they escalate to a crisis.
  • Strategy: Strong strategic thinking and business planning capabilities

  • Work with the NSM to propose sales incentive programs.
  • Execute regional sales plans and targets.
  • Recommend hiring, promotion, and disciplinary actions within the sales team.
  • Recommend branch sales restructuring where necessary.
  • Lead negotiations on major regional sales contracts.
