Job description

  • We are currently looking for Project Electrical Engineer to join its work force in Nigeria. Responsibilities are as follows:

Service Purpose

Electrical Design & Documentation:

  • Maintain and update all electrical working documents to reflect evolving site conditions and approved variations.
  • Articulate, initiate and develop original conceptual Electrical designs in response to project briefs and Company requirements.
  • Prepare shop drawings and change-control drawings during construction phases, ensuring alignment with
    approved designs.
  • Review and validate electrical designs submitted by external consultants, verifying compliance with scope, specifications,
    and applicable standards.
  • Produce detailed electrical drawings, including plans, and specifications, across all project stages from concept to
    construction.

Construction Supervision & Quality Control:

  • Ensure strict adherence by contractors to approved construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Prepare detailed site inspection reports, punch lists, and progress updates for Management review.
  • Supervise the testing and approval of building materials and components to confirm compliance with specified standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control inspections on all electrical elements, identifying defects and
    non-conformances.
  • Provide day-to-day on-site supervision of all electrical aspects of construction work across Company locations.

Project Management Support:

  • Verify that completed works conform strictly to approved-for-construction drawings prior to signing off.
  • Carry out periodic reviews of electrical drawings and ensure timely updates as required throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serve as the Company's resident site electrical engineer for both Special Projects and Facilities Management works.
  • Ensure that all as-built drawings for Company facilities are accurately completed, filed, and maintained.
  • Provide technical guidance on construction methods, sequencing, and best-practice execution approaches.

Standards, Compliance & Documentation:

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of electrical standards and procedures within the Facilities Management
  • Maintain a comprehensive and current record of all electrical drawings, specifications, and technical references for Company facilities.
  • Ensure all electrical project deliverables conform to COMPANY internal specifications and applicable industry best practices.

Profile

  • Proven ability to supervise construction works and manage contractor relationships on-site.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Prior experience working within an oil and gas, energy, or large corporate multi-site environment is highly desirable.
  • Registration with the Council for Regulation of Engineering Council is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full electrical deliverables lifecycle of major construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification work experience in an engineering consultancy or a comparable corporate environment.
  • Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) or an equivalent professional body is an advantage.

Technical Competencies:

  • Thorough knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and quality control procedures applicable in Nigeria and relevant
    international frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of structural, mechanical, and electrical design interfaces and their integration with architectural works.
  • Competence in the preparation and review of technical specifications, bills of quantities, and contract drawings.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of additional design and BIM software platforms is an advantage.
