We are a growing indigenous oil and gas services company operating within the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) value chain. Our core focus is delivering high-quality technical solutions, procurement services, and project execution support to upstream and downstream oil and gas operators. We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

  • The role demands strong capability in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and
  • cost optimisation, alongside a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating supplychain risks.
  • The procurement Specialist will possess extensive experience in the procurement andacquisition of oil and gas equipment and services required to successfully deliver projectswithin budget, on schedule, and in full compliance with industry standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Sourcing Strategy & Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers based on performance history,
  • strategic partnerships and achieve optimal contractual terms.
  • company standards, HSE policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations to ensure compliance with
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to support
  • quality standards, commercial competitiveness, and reliability.
  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure cost-efficient and
  • timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services.

Contract & Commercial Management:

  • Monitor contractual obligations to ensure adherence to agreed terms, deliveryschedules, and performance expectations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, terms, and conditions to securefavourable agreements aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, including tendering processes, bid evaluations,award recommendations, and contract execution.

Cost Control, Risk & Performance Management:

  • Prepare detailed procurement cost reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs),and provide regular budgetary and performance updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support cost optimisation initiatives while maintaining quality, safety, andoperational efficiency.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including cost overruns, deliverydelays, supply disruptions, and price fluctuations.

Logistics, Quality & Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier documentation.
  • Coordinate the timely and efficient delivery of materials and equipment to projectsites in line with project schedules.
  • Ensure all procured materials and equipment meet required quality specifications,technical requirements, and industry standards.
  • Manage procurement databases, approved vendor lists, and historical procurementdata to support audits, reporting, and future sourcing decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of international sourcing, logistics, and import/exportregulations applicable to oil and gas projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentwhile managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience working with IOCs, NOCs, EPC contractors, and key industrystakeholders is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with the abilityto interpret data and drive cost-effective outcomes.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively acrosscross-functional teams.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement within the oil & gas EPC sector or closely related industries.
  • High level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, andprocess adherence.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align procurement activities with broaderbusiness and project objectives.
  • Proven experience using procurement and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, andother project management tools.

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and industryrelated software (e.g., AutoCAD, Primavera P6) is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of technical sales and EPC project environments
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management abilities
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary
N500,000 - N800,000 / month.
